About Your PTA

The Mission

To make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

The How

Levering Volunteer Power

PTA organizes hard-working, dedicated volunteers.

Improve Communications

The production of informational flyers, general meetings, and updates on our Facebook page help to keep the entire school community informed about current events, issues, and accomplishments.

Measurable Results

More than 85 research studies conducted over the past 30 years prove that kids do better when parents are involved. Grades are higher. Test scores improve. Attendance increases.

Create Informed Parents

Involved parents understand the challenges schools face and become part of the solution.

Fulfill NCLB Obligations

Helps Sterling Park Elementary fulfill the parent involvement requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act.

Key PTA Programs

Some of children and their families need a little extra help. The Eagles Nest Market purpose is to provide weekend care packages that include non-perishable food items for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the weekend until they are back at school. Weekly snacks are also provided to those children that are in need to keep them going throughout the day.

Family Events

Provide families with fun filled, family centered activities each year to bring everyone together in fun... the result is the same - everyone has a blast!

Educational Needs

Part of a well-rounded education involves extra curricular experiences. The PTA provides funding to the art, physical education departments so the can purchase the supplies, equipment and other needs for the children in those programs.

Media Center

During the school year, the PTA coordinates a Scholastic Book Fair and proceeds from the fair go to support the Media Center needs.

Special Funding

The PTA also raises money for special needs of the school through out the year to support diffrent programs and activities. This includes providing grants to teachers for class room needs and supplies.

Parent Involvement

The PTA helps coordinate Meetings and Events to Inform Parents and create involvement within the School, Community and State issues concerning the education of their children.
