SCHOOL PANTRY

Some of our children need a little extra help. The pantry's purpose is to provide weekend care packages - portable, non-perishable food items for breakfast, lunch and dinner - that will keep their tummies happy until they return to school.

REFLECTIONS

All children deserve opportunities to explore and be involved in the arts. Since beginning in 1969, The Reflections Program has inspired millions of students to reflect on a specific theme and bring it to life through dance, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.

PROGRAMS

MEDIA CENTER SUPPORT

During the school year, the PTA coordinates a Scholastic Fall Book Fair.

All proceeds go directly to the Sterling Park Elementary Media Center. The PTA also provides funding to keep the Media Center open over the summer.

ACCELERATED READER

This program rewards the bookworms by allowing them to read books on the school library shelves, then take a test on that book. The children who take the most tests and score highest on their tests receive prizes and recognition. In the past, participants have had a chance to win, among other things, a Kindle.

EDUCATIONAL NEEDS

Part of a well-rounded education involves extra-curricular experiences. That's why we provide funding to the art, music and physical education departments so they can purchase extra art supplies, tune instruments, and help our kids stay fit.
